2012: Synaesthesia

This project stemmed rough acrylic on canvas paintings as reaction to shuffled songs, while listening to them. The reason is that I see music as colour. This is a form of Synaesthesia, one definition is "the production of a sense impression relating to one sense or part of the body by stimulation of another sense or part of the body." I have known about having this for a number of years, I discovered that few people were aware of it. Many other creatives have it too.

The project proposal was for a "Music & Colour, Synaesthesia experience and exhibition", set in the Medicine Gallery of the Welcome Collection, London. In this space people could see, participate and be informed about this type of synaesthesia.

I created a 3D technical drawing in SketchUp to demonstrate the experience. I then experimented with video shorts of me painting.
